Improvising Fatherhood May Photo Contest Okay, the results are in and it’s time to reveal the winners of the May Improvising Fatherhood Photo Contest. As you might remember I am but a humble blogger and have no great prize to give away this month and so what I am offering is my comedic writing skills to the winners. Apparently that offer holds even less value than I thought because this time only 3 people participated in the contest. But don’t worry, for the next contest I will go to Best Buy and steal a TV, and then give away my old TV as the prize. OR, I will offer my newly acquired nunchucking skills (warning: they’re still in beta). Even though there were only 3 submissions they were all top notch entries. I liked them all so much I’ve decided they all should win. But I’m not a fan of the whole “everyone is a winner” mentality. I’m not going to raise my son that way, and I’m not going to hold my contests that way. So in this contest there will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. And I will award my comedic writing accordingly. First place will get the funniest thing I can muster. Second place will get something that is pretty funny, but isn’t going to make you spit your Mt Dew all over your computer screen. And third place will get something that would be good enough for Jay Leno. Okay, so here are the winners. 1st place goes to my favorite mother-in-law and wife combo team for this great picture.

My Mother-in-law was the brains behind this one and my wife made it happen. Great work ladies. 2nd place goes to Donda for this great caption that is both topical and involves Mt Dew.

Donda has a great blog about being a bipolar mother. You should check it out. And who knows, I might be guest blogging over there soon. 3rd place goes to my favorite wife. She’s not just my favorite wife because she is my only wife. If I had other wives she would for sure be my favorite. She created this hilarious photo.

It would have won first prize but she missed a critical comedic opportunity by not putting my head on Kate’s body so it would be “John & Nate Plus 8.” That’s okay. Third place isn’t bad.
