Wow, that’s a really good question. When it comes to peeing, Chandler is a potty master. He’s totally aware of when he needs to go, and often he will tell us. One time he even wondered off, peed in the toilet, came back and told us about it. For the times when he doesn’t want to go potty, I just yell, “IT’S A RACE!” and he bolts to the bathroom to beat me there.
Now…pooping is another thing altogether. Chandler has a hard time pooping on the potty. He’s been giving it his all-star try, but most nights he ends up pooping in his diaper right before we put him to bed.
We’ve decided to continue to encourage him to use the potty, but not push him too hard. There is still a deal on the table - 5 M&Ms for a poop in the potty and 1 M&M for a try. Tonight he took us up on that offer and received 1 M&M. Most nights he passes on the deal and goes straight for the diaper.
