Portland Tumblr Meetup Proposal
Hey all you PDX Tumblr users,
I started a conversation recently with Lextel over at fuckyeahportland about organizing a Portland Tumblr Meetup. A bunch of you responded with “likes” and reblogs to show your support of the idea.
I am a founding member of the Curious Comedy Theater in Portland, OR. I spoke to our director and she has officially offered to have the Curious Comedy Theater host the event.
Here’s a look at the space.
What we propose is an event on a Saturday starting at 5 or 5:30pm. The theater has a full bar and a great food menu, but is also an all-ages venue.
What I’d like to do is organize a “Speed Meeting” event where we go around from table to table quickly telling each other about our blogs and experiences on Tumblr.
Other than that, there would be time for general drinking and merriment (just merriment for the underage users). After the event, the Curious Comedy Theater is offering discounted tickets for anyone who wants to stay for the 8pm show.
So what’s the next step? We need to pick a date. I could just arbitrarily pick one, but I’d like to get feedback from all of you so we can pick a date that works for as many people as possible.
I’m thinking a Saturday in either August or September would be good. That will give us time to make all the arrangements we need to make.
