Pumpkin Patch 2010
Last week we took Chandler on his second annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch. Chandler has become quite the Pumpkin connoisseur.
Last year I talked about how the trip to the Pumpkin Patch was really just a glorified photo shoot. Chandler was too young to really appreciate what was happening. Also, he lost a hand in a horrible pumpkining accident.
This year was a little more fun. Chandler got to see some barn animals, and walk around in some mud, and sit on some uncomfortable gourds…
Unfortunately Chandler got a little handsy with the gourds and tried to sneak one off the premises inside his bear suit. He was apprehended by a few security guards who were dressed up and hiding as scarecrows. They took his mugshot and then sent him away with a warning.
Overall it was a pretty fun day. Grandpa Mustache (that’s my new nickname for him that he doesn’t know about yet) took loads and loads of pictures. Grandma BB fed Chandler some Apple Cider donuts when no one was looking, and Uncle Tio kicked Chandler in the face.
What? The kid tried to steal a gourd. We handle the law in our own way.
But the very best part of the day was this.
For almost the entire time we were there Chandler let me hold his hand as we walked around the patch. It was adorable. In this picture, it kind of looks like Chandler is a Secret Service Agent (in the cuddly bear unit) escorting me through a crowd. Look how alert he is, scanning the crowd for threats. And look how I’m distracted by something shiny in the grass.
